A professional ballerina by training, Mary Helen danced with New York City Ballet for 10 years before graduating from Columbia University and founding Ballet Beautiful. “These are so amazing and comfy. Easily as nice as $100 slippers your would buy at a professional dance store that is a free standing store. I bought both the day they came out bc my size was actually available!!! lol. My advice get both of the color asap and definitely go down one size or they really won’t fit you right. I been in ballet since I was 3 years old. I learned a lot about how slippers should fit!!! I’m a 7 1/2 and got the 37 and they are perfect!!! Love them!!!”

“Because I’ve tried quite a few brands of ballet slippers, I wasn’t sure what more this latest release from Ballet Beautiful had to offer, but because I’ve had such a great experience with their dancewear in the past (each item I’ve bought has held up and washed beautifully), I figured I’d give these a try. Let me tell you, I’m so glad I did! I decided to get the nude pair as I’ve never owned a pair in that shade before, and it’s a gorgeous shade, even for my pale complexion – the shade is similar to the color that contemporary ballet dancers usually wear for their pointe shoes. I followed the sizing advice for the snug fit (a size 37 for my US size 7) and was amazed at how much more generous the fit was compared to the satin ballet slippers from this store, the latter of which I found to be inconsistent in sizing. In fact, the sizing was so generous that I almost wondered if I should have sized down further, but I decided to give them a shot anyway and they worked beautifully for my workout just now – my feet usually cramp during jump-y cardio sessions with Ballet Beautiful while wearing other slippers, but not with these at all, which makes me think that the sizing advice is correct after all! They are wonderfully lightweight, soft, and stretchy, and highlight the arch beautifully – I can’t stop staring at the gorgeous line they create, which only encourages me to better use my feet more during my workouts! I’m glad I gave these slippers a try – like everything else I’ve tried from the Ballet Beautiful store thus far (and trust me, it’s been quite a lot of it!), you cannot go wrong with this item. I do believe I’ll be coming back for the other colors once a restock is done. I love my new slippers; thank you to Mary Helen and the BB Team for designing these so intentionally and meticulously!”

“You can tell that a great deal of thought went into the design of these shoes. The fabric is soft and conforms beautifully to your feet without binding. The soles are sewn for durability, yet thin enough to promote good balance. The elastics are properly placed and a really nice width and strength. They are even marked right and left with tags inside each slipper. Wearing these slippers along with Ballet Beautiful tights during my workouts makes for an enhanced dance experience. Can you tell that I love them?”
