As we get closer to the summer, I think of all the benefits and fun of working out outdoors! Let’s get that extra dose of vitamin D with this simple 15-minute Ab workout at the beach!
Laying down on our back, bend the knees and point the toes so just the toes are touching the ground. Pull the stomach in tight, bring your hands behind the head supporting the head and the neck. Lift one leg up to table top position, then the other one, lower one leg and then the other. Keep your feet pointed and alternate your legs for 3 sets of 8.
Keep both legs bent, hands behind your head and let’s bring the chin to the chest and crunch up while also bringing our legs up to table top position at the same time, then bring everything down and repeat. 3 sets of 8.
Now bring the legs up to table top position. As we crunch up, extend one leg out. Lower down the upper body and repeat extending the other leg out. Make sure you keep the elbows open and the shoulders relaxed. 3 sets of 8.
Let’s add a little twisting here! Crunch up and twist towards the side of the leg that we extend! Switch sides for 3 more sets of 8.
Hug the knees to your chest and relax ?
We continue on our back, this time legs are in table top position and the arms go to 1st position, nice round shaped arms. As we extend both legs out to the diagonal in front, we open both arms to 2nd position (side). Repeat for 2 sets of 8.
Back to the starting position, now we’re going to use opposite arm and leg. Extend the right leg out to the diagonal and the left arm up overhead and switch sides, for 3 sets of 8. Make sure your lower back stays down!
Big breath and let’s do 2 more sets of 8, this time extending both arms and legs!
